Emergency Vet Clinics

Terrible experience with emergency vet clinics this past weekend. At least now I know where not to go and where to go if I need one in the future.

Two of the three e-clinics I encountered last weekend are sorely lacking in their clinical skills and professionalism.

Maybe they might try a little hand washing and glove wearing to start with, or at the very least put a new plastic cover over the rectal thermometer each time they use one on a different cat or dog!!!!

Moral of story know your vet clinic locations and capabilities before you need one!

Michael Brown's funeral to be held in St. Louis

Michael Brown's funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Friendly Temple Missionary Baptist Church in St. Louis. The 18-year-old will be laid to rest more than two weeks after his fatal shooting by a white police officer, which sparked a wave of violent protests in Ferguson, Mo. Across the country, the shooting has become a symbol of racial injustice. President Obama is sending three White House aides to the funeral. Rev. Al Sharpton will deliver the eulogy. Ferguson Riots

Angela is scared and angry. She just wants her boys to grow up.
Not only is she trapped in a world of poverty, she's raising two young sons by herself as a single parent.
Angela dreads the day they're old enough to walk out the door by themselves, uncertainty and desperation wash over her as she vents "How can I protect my babies from these mean streets. I don't have no money to escape to a rich white man's neighborhood. My boys may be out one day  just acting silly  like all teenagers do and the police think they're doing something bad and shoot them!!! Why did they leave Michael laying on the street for 4 hours and didn't even have the decency to cover him up. That cop who shot him left right away so who knows how he was really injured. Maybe he did it to himself. The police tried to make the young people leave after Michael was shot but they wouldn't budge. The kids stayed to make sure the police didn't plant any drugs or guns on Michael"

My children's streets were uncorrupted, a place to enjoy life with your friends, something Angela and her sons will probably never get to experience. What can we do to help Angela and her sons and others like them so they to may enjoy the life most of us take for granted?!?
